Thin noodles/Semiya in dates and coconut syrup

This recipe is similar to the One of the classic recipe of my home town Karnataka Ottu Shavige (Pressed homemade rice noodles)/Shemige/Akki shavige. I never had the Shavige Maker to make it fresh so tried with wheat thin noodles.

As a variation have used dates and coconut syrup. This recipe requires no special Indian ingredients and can be made thin wheat noodles, dates and coconut milk from your pantry. Your simple and quick to make dessert is ready, which can be served even for breakfast

Serves: 3-4
Preparation time: 10 minutes

Oats and Brown rice – Bisibele bath/Spiced lentil rice

In this recipe lentils soften because they cook quickly than brown rice but lentils retain its shape. The proportion of lentils and rice can be altered as per taste. This dish is ‘spiced’ not spices, cinnamon, cloves and cumin give it a warm rich flavour but no heat.

Health Benefits:

Both brown rice and oatmeal are whole-grain foods that make up part of a healthy diet. They’re unrefined, meaning the fiber and nutrients haven’t been stripped away through processing. They also supply you with essential vitamins and minerals, such as B vitamins and Iron.
